I am a mortgage broker and associated with Mortgage Alliance, Canada’s largest independent mortgage brokerage firm. As such, I am not an employee of a lending institution, nor owned by one.  I have access to numerous lenders and subsequently can shop for, and offer you, the mortgage that best meets your needs. I don’t charge any direct fees to my residential clients but when I find a mortgage that suits your situation, the lender will pay me a finder’s fee.  I only get paid for performance. 

People have different mortgage goals, some like years to carry their mortgage, while others want to be able to pay off the mortgage as quickly as possible.  Getting a good interest rate is crucial, but don’t forget, flexibility and options are also important.
